Dave Stevens

David N. Stevens, P. Eng. - Senior Civil Engineer/Director

Dave Stevens founded Silk Stevens in 2006. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with 30 years’ experience, primarily as a Civil design engineer, planner and manager. Dave is licenced to practice engineering in 9 provinces. His background as a design engineer and experience in consulting engineering, environmental engineering, and aquaculture provide a unique background, skillset and knowledge to offer engineering services to a diverse group of clients. Extensive building design, site design, environment, health and safety and fisheries and aquaculture experience give him the ability to offer “simple solutions and practical advice” to clients in industry and government.

Onassis Sanchez

Onassis Sanchez – Senior Hatchery Specialist & Vice President of Engineering

Onassis Sanchez joined Silk Stevens Limited in 2010 as a Fish Hatchery Designer. He brings significant hatchery design and operation experience to the Silk Stevens team and has worked more than 100 aquaculture projects. These projects have involved various species of aquatic life and holding facilities for shellfish, salmon, trout, halibut, and tilapia. He is knowledgeable in the use of boilers, heat exchangers, UV systems, O2 pressure columns, O2 control and monitoring systems. In addition, he has acquired valuable experience with circular tanks, moving bed biofilters, bead filters, aeration systems and incubation racks. Onassis has also designed and specified various aeration towers, LHO’s, drum filters and swirl separators. He is also experienced in structural design, including the design of building frames and foundations.

Radya Rifaat

Radya Rifaat, P. Eng. – Senior Civil Engineer

Radya Rifaat is a Registered Professional Engineer with 18 years of experience. Her experience includes municipal, land development, and transportation projects of various sizes and complexity. Radya has experience working on projects in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Alberta, and Ontario.  She has managed several projects through planning, design, and construction phases. Her areas of expertise include: road and parking facility design, municipal infrastructure design, traffic operations analysis, transportation planning, land development and noise analysis.

Christopher Schaerer

Christopher Schaerer, EIT – Mechanical Designer

Chris recently graduated from the University of New Brunswick. During his studies, Chris had the opportunity to work on New Brunswick’s first Satellite. Chris’s unique skill set includes drawing advanced piping schematics, modeling mechanical components, designing park layouts and designing septic systems. He has experience working in the seafood canning industry and asset management. Chris joined the Silk Stevens Limited team in 2019.
